Beaconsfield Pistol Club
Beaconsfield Pistol Club is located in Kenilworth Road, Beaconsfield in an area of bush that lies between Pakenham train line as well as the Berwick bypass. Beaconsfield Pistol Club Beaconsfield Pistol Club was formed in the year 1959, just following the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. Beaconsfield Pistol Club is part of Beaconsfield Pistol Club is affiliated to the Victorian Amateur Pistol Association (VAPA), Pistol Australia (PA) and the International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF). These bodies in different ways oversee our sport, create guidelines for pistol matches and allow us to be a part of official Government Departments.
The facilities comprise two outdoor shooting ranges and a 10-bay Indoor air pistol range and clubhouse with an kitchenette and a decent parking space. Members are invited to shoot at the ranges for shooting and competitions every week. Competition pistol shooting is offered in several different levels of performance. These range from Master Grade down through A,B C, D and A.
It is the Beaconsfield Pistol Club is a non-profit association that is run by volunteers for the benefit of members and has a committee appointed to oversee the operation of the club. Members are required to take part in eight hours of working bees to maintain the running of the Club , and to perform two desk assignments on a Saturday throughout the year. (only members with full licenses can are allowed to perform desk duties.)
The club is available on days that follow:
- Monday 4.00pm to 10.00pm Air Pistol & 4.00pm to 8.00pm 22’s Day Light Savings
- Wednesday 10.00am until 4.00pm All of our ranges
- Thursday 4.00pm to 10.00pm Air Pistol Only
- Saturday 10.00am until 4.00pm All sizes
A large portion of our members work in our State Junior Development Squad. State Junior Development Squad, the State Juniors, officiate at open competitions, were at the 2005 Deaflympics as well as Melbourne the 2006 Commonwealth Games Shooting Events and the Aus Cup 2012.
Beaconsfield Pistol Club is a family-friendly club that welcomes children who are younger than 12 to join the club’s rooms. (Pets are also accepted. )These children must be under the immediate supervision of parents or guardians during their stay on the site. Many of our senior Club members took children in the past. Now the children are members of our juniors within the club. We have the highest number of Juniors from the State on the Beaconsfield Pistol Club. To achieve this, we have the State Coach Director who coaches these juniors each Thursday evening between 7.00pm until 9.00pm.
