Aquatics Area
25m Indoor Swimming Pool
The indoor swimming pool, which measures 25m x 8 lanes and has a maximum depth 1.7 metres, is heated to 29°C and accessible to all abilities.
Program Pool
Because it’s heated to 32 degrees Celsius, the Program pool is accessible to all ages. We offer Aquatic Education lessons to help our youngest participants improve their swimming skills. Access to this pool is also possible for those with limited mobility, as there is a ramp that allows easy entry.
Leisure Pool
This pool is designed specifically for toddlers, young children, and their parents. The pool has a maximum depth.25m. It features a shallow entry, fountains, and jumping jacks. Parents with young children or babies will enjoy the area’s exciting and fun features. It encourages exploration and familiarization with water.
Accessible Change Room Facility
Family and disabled changing rooms are easily accessible, making it easier to enjoy family swimming. You will find plenty of family changing rooms, seating areas, and showers to make your aquatic experience more enjoyable.
Aquatic Education
Infant Aquatics (6mnths-3.5yrs)
Through exploration of the aquatic environment, the infant program fosters parent-child bonding. Participation in a variety of activities will help parents and children to become more familiar with water. The age groupings are for children of different ages.
Shrimp 6 – 15 months
Periwinkle 15-months – 2 Years
Minnow 2 years – 3.5 years
Starfish 2 years – 3.5 years
Preschool Aquatics (3.5yrs-school age)
In a supportive and caring environment, students are encouraged to grow their skills and abilities. Children are encouraged to form positive relationships and learn independence while being taught stroke development skills and water safety.
School age aquatics
AquaSafe gives students the chance to build confidence and establish relationships in order to reach their goals. Students will learn stroke techniques as well as water safety skills under the guidance of their teachers.
Aquaguard
Students can challenge themselves and be part of a team, learn at their own pace and interact with others while the YMCA AquaGuards Program allows them to do so. The program emphasizes rescue skills, survival strokes and open water environments. It also introduces resuscitation techniques. This program is based upon Water Safety and Lifeguard competencies. It aims to teach students skills that could one day save lives. The program is open to students between 7-12 years old who are proficient in and around water. It runs Monday nights at 5pm.
AquaSafe School Holiday Program
This program is for primary school-aged children. Classes run for 45 minutes and begin at 9 a.m. each day. Children are graded according to their abilities.
