KingKids Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten Narre Warren
Jo MacKenzie King always wanted to have a large family. After four children, she told Andy that it was time to have number 5. He responded by saying “Whoa, enough is enough, we need the Childcare Centre you always wanted” and KingKids was born. Jo returned to school to complete her Diploma Children’s Services. In October 2012, they bought their first Centre in Berwick. They hoped to provide kindergarten and childcare services for local families. This Centre was transformed from one that was poor quality to become the first in the City to receive the Exceeding National Quality Standards award.
Fast forward to 2015. KingKids Berwick was on a waiting list. A nearby childcare centre in Narre Warren was closing. This gave KingKids the opportunity to offer education and childcare to more families. In less than 12 months, KingKids Narre Warren is rated Exceeding the National Quality Standards.
KingKids was able to lease a new, state-of-the-art Centre in Rowville in November 2017. This is a significant achievement in quality childcare and early education. Andy died just months after the Centre opened. Andy would be proud of the KingKids Rowville Center.
Sally was appointed Executive Director of KingKids in 2019 and she and Jo opened a new Centre at Mooroolbark. They are excited to build another KingKids Centre that is a great fit for our families.
KingKids has opened their fifth Centre in Hallam, Germany in November 2020. It must be seen to be appreciated. KingKids is looking forward to exciting times.
KingKids is thrilled to announce the opening of a new Cranbourne West centre in 2022.
KingKids is different from other Centres because it is owned and managed by people who value their staff (not shareholders).
